Data View – Graphical Reporting for Quality Improvement

DataView is a powerful graphical reporting tool.  Manufacturers need tools that make it fast and easy to share information about their processes throughout their organizations.  DataView is just such a tool.  It makes a simple task of generating concise, understandable, graphical reports detailing important aspects of manufacturing operations.  With it, it’s easy to diagnose and solve problems before they become costly mistakes.

DataView is a part of Wilcox Associates DataSuite reporting software.  DataSuite is a key component of Wilcox’s Enterprise Metrology Solution (EMS) software family.  The focus of EMS is to give our customers the tools they need to gather, evaluate, manage and present information about their manufacturing processes. 

DataView makes it easy to visualize manufacturing processes.  Having to wade through reams of printed reports to figure out what is happening with manufacturing operations is a time consuming and often confusing chore.  Well-done, graphical reports eliminate this uncertainty and waste, and DataView does just that.  Its reports are truly “pictures worth a thousand works”.  Users at all levels of an organization can generate DataView reports and put them to good use with little or no training. 

DataView automatically generates annotated part drawings.  The value of graphical reports is unquestionable, but developing them can be a tedious process.  Companies have spent countless man-hours on their CAD systems setting them up.  DataView ends all that.  It automatically generates part drawings and labels them with the appropriate feature information.  It even manages the layout.  With it, users generate sophisticated reports with no special training. 

  DataView eliminates hours of data entry.  Getting information from measurement devices into graphical reports can be a problem.  Many manufactures have resorted to entering data by hand into some sort of CAD based system.  DataView, however, is part of a metrology system.  By definition, it has immediate access to all measurement information.  So, it’s simple to build reports either looking at single inspection cycles or using versatile built-in SPC tools.
