Latest
version of the industry’s leading CMM software
incorporates
dozens of new features.
Wilcox
Associates, a Hexagon Metrology Company, has announced the availability of
PC-DMIS® V4.3, incorporating
dozens of new or enhanced features to extend CMM measurement and reporting
capabilities and improve programming productivity.
With over
30,000 seats in place, PC-DMIS is the world’s leading metrology software for
Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs).
Version 4.3 builds on the concept of Enterprise Metrology Solutions®
(EMS) by introducing modules that streamline the job of programming and extend
the software’s capabilities to other types of measurement equipment, thus
offering a common software solution for varying metrology requirements.
Developed in
response to comments and suggestions from our customers, this release offers a
major extension of the software’s functionality. It enhances its usability and
represents a continuing commitment to the advancement of metrology software. Some of the advancements of particular
interest to the PC-DMIS and CMM user community are:
New
dimensions. Includes an
extension to the length dimension that adds support for curves and splines and
an “In Between” True Position tolerance for aerospace parts in accordance with
SNECMA requirements.
Automated
dimensioning. Functions
that allow the software to determine the tolerance to apply to each feature
based on its type and to which axes it needs to apply the tolerances.
Expanded
fitting capabilities.
Provide for the fitting of multiple scans into a single multi-tolerance
zone.
Powerful
alignment function.
Makes it possible to iterate through an alignment by continually re-piercing
the CAD model.
Flexible
editing capabilities.
Allow users to change programs quickly by grouping and ungrouping commands and
by “dragging and dropping” commands in the Summary Mode Screen.
New
construction function.
Lets the user create a point between a plane and a scan or a curve, making it
easy to calculate gage diameters on non-uniform geometry.
Enhanced
probe handling. Adds
support for the LSP-X1 family of analog probes and for disk probes on the SP25
and simplifies the calibration of the SP25 probes as well as TRAX and PMM
probes on Leitz CMMs.
Innovative
graphics and display facilities.
Allow the Collision Detection Function to list all potential collisions in a
single window, and a new ‘Display Symbols’ dialog lets programmers quickly and
easily alter the display characteristics of any feature.
Extensions
to program simulation routines. Support
rotary table animation and allow for the speedup of the simulated execution of
programs in off-line mode to many times that of a real machine.
Full
support for Laser Tracker technology.
Incorporates advanced aerospace alignment and ‘Build Inspect’ tools.
Expanded
rotary table and sensor support.
Incorporates dual rotary table support along with white light and laser support
for vision and multi-sensor platforms.
Enhanced
reporting capabilities.
Include the addition of templates for Leica trackers, greater control over the
appearance of reports when using automation, added capabilities for controlling
colors and grids using the PC-DMIS Template Editor and enhancements to the
Report Window including the addition of a Label Layout Wizard that greatly
simplifies the job of custom report setup.
PC-DMIS™, the
world’s most advanced CMM software, is the centerpiece of Wilcox Associate’s
Enterprise Metrology Solutions product group.
It is standard equipment on all of Hexagon Metrology Group’s new CMMs
and is also available as an upgrade to all Hexagon Metrology brands of CMM
already in use. In addition, PC-DMIS can
be used to upgrade all brands of Non-Hexagon CMMs.
